What’s New in PI Vision 2024

PI Vision 2024 introduces powerful features for display editing, process monitoring, and administrative control. Here’s a summary of what’s new:

Display Editing and Monitoring Enhancements

1. Font and Font Sizing: Apply custom fonts and sizes to all symbols, including trends, tables, and gauges.
2. Bulk Edit Symbols: Edit multiple symbols at once for faster display modifications.
3. Time Series Table: A new symbol to view timestamps and recorded values directly from the PI System.
4. Multi-State Table Symbol: Apply conditional formatting (multi-stating) to rows or entire tables for color-coded value representation.
5. Rich-Text Editor: The text symbol now supports font styling and word wrap for better customization.
6. Preserved Zoom Levels: Displays open at the last used zoom level and position for each user.

Homepage and Folder Management

1. Sort Displays: Order displays by name, owner, last accessed date, or last modified date.
2. Tabular View: Switch between thumbnail and table views for displays on the homepage.

Vision Library+ Compatibility with PI Vision 2024

The Vision Library+ collection of custom symbols is fully compatible with PI Vision 2024, with a couple of exceptions:

2. WebView+

For users utilizing these symbols, an update is required. Simply download Vision Library+ v1.49.3, which includes fixes ensuring these symbols work seamlessly in PI Vision 2024.

How to Upgrade Vision Library+

1. Go to your account and click the Download Library button to access your downloads
2. Find and download Vision Library+ v1.49.3 (or later)
3. Follow the provided installation guide to update your custom symbols.
4. Restart your PI Vision  to ensure all changes take effect.

Important: Updating PI Vision will reset the changes made to the web.config file. So if you have enabled sounds for Alarm Sound+ or disabled frameSourcePolicy for WebView+, you need to add these settings again.
